Maestro Morehead will conduct two student performances of Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) at Lyric Opera of Chicago on January 26 and 28, 2012. The cast will include Paul La Rosa, René Barbera, Kiri Deonarine, Jennifer Jakob, and Audrey Luna with the Lyric Opera Orchestra.
Morehead appears as conductor and pianist on a new CD, Good News Falls Gently, works by composer Patricia Morehead, recently released by Navona Records.
Mo. Morehead conducts “Words and Music”, a new music theater work by Gustavo Leone.
This August Maestro Morehead returned to the Festival Lyrique-en-mer on Belle-Île, France, to conduct performances of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore.
On June 29 and July 1, 2011, Maestro Morehead conducted two in-house performances of Mozart’s Così fan tutte with the fabulous young artists of Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Ryan Opera Center, directed by Loren Meeker and played by Craig Terry and Alan Darling.
